Monuments

Knight has completed a broad range of commissions—from a representation of St. Anne for St. Anne’s Episcopal Church in Atlanta, Georgia, to the Morgan Monument to Education in Bartow County, Georgia, to a sculpture of two young boys playing catch poolside for a private collection.

With this new monument to John Lewis, Knight brings her experience in public memorials to honor his courage, preserve his story, and invite future generations to stand with him in the ongoing fight for justice.

Recent Monument

In 2025, the Alabama State House unveiled Rosa Parks Stepping Into Equality, a monumental bronze sculpture by Julia Knight. Sponsored by the Alabama Women’s Tribute Statue Commission, the 9-foot, 6-inch figure shows Rosa Parks stepping onto a bus—and symbolically into the future. Including its granite base, the work rises 17 feet over Montgomery, honoring Parks’s courage and lasting impact on the Civil Rights Movement.
